VW has revealed the new Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio, releasing the first images and details of their new open-top model. The world debut of the Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio was at the 2011 Geneva motor show, but the car will be available for sale from tomorrow. VW says the Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio comes with innovative soft top with an electro-hydraulic drive that requires 9.5 seconds to open. The Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio is based on the three-door hard-top model, featuring the same general design lines. In terms of design, the Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio features a new rear section with a lower profile roof line and more swept-back front windscreen. The Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio will be put o sale with a choice between six turbocharged direct-injection engines, four petrol TSI units and one TDI. The VW Golf 6 cabrio will offer power outputs ranging from 77 kW / 105 PS to 155 kW / 210 PS. The petrol range of the Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio will include the 1.2 TSI with 105 PS, the 1.4 TSI with 160 PS and 122 PS, and the 2.0 TSI with 210 PS. The Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio diesel will be offered with the 1.6 TDI with 105 PS, and a 2.0 TDI with 140 PS. The diesel Volkswagen Golf 6 cabrio 1.6 TDI will also be offered with the DSG dual-clutch gearbox.
